I’ve sat here looking at these pictures and this post and I’m at a loss for words.  There are so many things to say about this amazing family but none of them seem like enough.

Sweet Louie’s cancer has returned and they’re once again facing a difficult journey.  I look at these smiling faces and all I can think is God is faithful.  He is faithful and He’s bigger than any circumstances we face.  We know that this is going to be a hard road but God is faithful. He will never leave us.  He knows the path laid out for us.  He’s walked ahead of us and laid it out.  The verse this family has chosen as sort of a family motto is Isaiah 43:2.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. 

I’m at a loss for words, but when you’ve got those awesome words from the Lord, what more do you need?  God is faithful.  I’ve said before to these guys that TeamSlice will never fight alone.  There’s a whole community of people – family, friends, neighbors, strangers – praying for this boy and his family.  We all stand with TeamSlice.  But GOD is faithful.  His promise says he will always be with you, even in the deep waters.  You will never fight alone.

I’m so incredibly thankful for the time I got to spend with these guys this weekend.  Baby Lennon just celebrated his first birthday the day before so we squeezed in some birthday pictures (hello, huge baby smiles and lots of pumpkins!!  Those coming soon!!).  Louie was running around with the biggest smiles and the joy of being a three year old.  I love how he just randomly starts waiving and shouting hi to people walking by!!  I’m in awe of the strength and bravery of Laura and Josh.  You guys are such an inspiration to so many and such great parents to these kiddos.

Stay strong, guys!  I can’t wait until our next session (with the newest TeamSlice member!!  Eek!!!)!!  You got this, Lou!!  Bring the gun show, buddy!!!
