{The Aldrich Family}

Hey, blog!!  Long time no see!!  I’m gearing up for a busy fall season and I’m kicking it off by sharing the cutest little family!!  I’m going to try really hard to keep up with blogging my sessions this season because I so love sharing all the sweet faces I get to see with you guys!!

I met this little firecracker and her family at preschool a few years back when our kiddos were little.  Last year, just as preschool began, Ellie found out she has Type 1 Diabetes and has recently marked her first year since being diagnosed.  This little girl is SO BRAVE.  She doesn’t let a anything hold her back!!  And her parents are rock stars!  It’s not easy being someone’s pancreas and these guys have navigated these new waters with such strength and are great advocates for Ellie.

The Aldrich Fam is getting ready for their first walk with JDRF One Walk to support T1D research.  #TeamEllieHugs is raising money here for the walk in October.  There is so much that goes into standing in for your kid’s pancreas everyday (and so. much. math!) and with continued research, maybe one day there’ll be cure!  (And until then… maybe affordable insulin… girl, don’t get me started.)

When Maria said she wanted to incorporate some special pictures for T1D, I knew I had to find just the right location.  How perfect is this wall???  I’m in love.  And this fearless little superhero rocked that blue wall with that epic flower crown!!  So stinkin cute!

After our blue wall, we headed over to Fort Monroe for some family pictures.  It wasn’t 800 degrees with 200% humidity so it almost felt like fall!  A novel concept in Virginia!  These guys with their perfect fall colors certainly got me ready to break out the fall decorations and start looking ahead and some fun fall family photos coming up!

Maria said she and Nate hadn’t had pictures of just the two of them since she was pregnant with Ellie.  They are so cute together!  Maria has the best smile and Ellie helped me get some awesome laughing pictures of mom and dad with all of her funny faces.  Laughing pictures will always be my favorite!!  We explored a few new spaces as the sun got low and glowy and ended the session tucked under this perfect tree.  It felt like a magical little fairy garden (and by magical fairies, I of course mean mosquitos… thanks, Virginia).

Thank you so much for hanging out with me, Aldrich Family!!  You guys are the sweetest!!

~Maggie
